GeoRidge® and GeoRidge® Bio check dams have proven to be very effective erosion and sediment control measures. By acting as an energy dissipater, GeoRidge reduces flow velocities causing silt and sediment to settle upstream of the GeoRidge. Reduced water velocity also results in minimized downstream erosion.
“Regular” GeoRidge is manufactured from durable UV stabilized High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) giving it very good resistance to UV and normally occurring soil conditions. GeoRidge can be removed once vegetation has established and be reused.
GeoRidge Bio incorporates technologically advanced additives that cause the bio-degradation of the check dam in an 18 to 24 month period. GeoRidge Bio can be installed and left to nature to degrade.
Using erosion control blankets in conjunction with GeoRidge check dams maximizes performance by preventing the undermining of the GeoRidge and by encouraging vegetation growth.
