Paving

The intrusion of water through surface cracks is a major source of deterioration in paved roadways. Pavement interlayer systems provide reinforcement, water-proofing, and stress-absorption to extend the lifespan of pavement and roadways.

GlasGrid® Reinforcement Mesh
The GlasGrid pavement interlayer system provides reinforcement between the leveling and surface course to resist the migration of reflective cracks in pavements. GlasGrid is composed of a series of fiberglass strands coated with a polymer and formed into a grid structure that result in a high-strength, low-elongation reinforcing material.

Petromat®
Petromat
is a nonwoven, polypropylene geotextile that when used in conjunction with an asphalt tack coat forms an asphalt membrane interlayer within the pavement. This layer prevents surface water infiltration and provides stress absorption, which improves the pavement’s resistance to reflective and fatigue cracking.

Petrotac®
Petrotac is an easy to install, "peel and stick" pavement repair membrane that extends the lifespan of a roadway by forming a moisture barrier and stress-absorbing pavement interlayer. Petrotac is composed of a nonwoven fabric coated with rubberized asphalt adhesive mastic.

GlasGrid®

GlasGrid Reinforcement Mesh is applied to road surfaces to prevent pavement deterioration caused by traffic loading, age hardening and temperature cycling.

GlasGrid Paving

GlasGrid is made of fiber glass strands which are configured for engineering performance. High tensile strength and modulus of elasticity at low elongation makes GlasGrid pound for pound, stronger than steel. Through independent lab testing, GlasGrid has been proven to extend pavement life.

When GlasGrid is "sandwiched" between the leveling and surface course asphalt, it becomes the road’s hidden strength, turning crack stresses horizontally and dissipate stress. It helps reduce reflective cracking for many years.

As reinforcement, GlasGrid increases the tensile strength characteristics of asphalt concrete.

GlasGrid mesh is placed on the prepared surface of the roadway, followed by an asphalt concrete overlay.

Petromat®

Petromat® is a nonwoven fabric that is field saturated with an asphalt cement tack coat to create a continuous moisture barrier and stress absorbing interlayer in new or rehabilitated pavements.

Petromat®

Petromat extends the life of new asphalt pavements and overlays by acting as a barrier to prevent water infiltration from the road surface into the base course. It also performs as a stress-absorber to reduce reflective and fatigue cracking.

Petromat®

Petromat is used to extend the life of all paved areas, including highways, parking areas and airport pavements.

Petrotac®

Petrotac® is a “peel and stick” strip membrane used as a moisture barrier and stress absorber in paving applications. Petrotac is used in pavement maintenance to treat local pavement distress and joints and cracks before overlay placement. Petrotac is also used full-width as a moisture barrier in bridge deck paving projects.

Petrotac is composed of the Petromat® nonwoven fabric coated with rubberized asphalt adhesive mastic. The adhesive mastic easily bonds to the existing pavement surface, allowing for a quick, uncomplicated product installation. The unique asphalt coating on top of the nonwoven fabric ensures a strong bond with the pavement overlay.

The factory applied rubberized asphalt coating forms a continuous moisture barrier, leading many regions to approve Petrotac as a bridge deck waterproofing membrane.
