Geogrids improve structural integrity of walls, roadways and slopes by confining and distributing load forces. Geogrids have become the answer for designers, developers and contractors facing the challenges of steep ground and soft subgrades. There are two types of geogrids - biaxial and uniaxial.
Geogrids are used to help soils stand at virtually any desired angle from 0 to 90 degrees in grade separation applications. In retaining wall and slope applications, geogrids can be combined with a wide variety of facing elements to produce the desired aesthetics for any project.
Geogrids provide support for the construction of access roads, highways, berms, dikes and structures-applications that previously meant the use of expensive over-excavating or piling methods on weak subgrades. Geogrids are also used in base reinforcement applications to reduce aggregate thickness requirements or extend the performance life of these structures or both.

Perhaps the most destructive stage of the development cycle is the relatively short period when vegetation is cleared and a site is graded to create a buildable landscape. Nilex Vertical Wick Drains greatly facilitate the dewatering process, by providing a suitable conduit to allow the pore water to escape very quickly. Vertical wick drains can be economically installed at close spacing, shortening the flow path of the water, and thereby expediting the consolidation process.
