Containment

The development of manufactured synthetic lining products has allowed for the efficient design and construction of containment structures such as ponds, lagoons, landfills, and secondary spill containment facilities. Because there are a wide variety of materials being stored, and many liner types to choose from, the design and selection of the appropriate lining materials can be a complex task.

Drainage

Nilex's prefabricated drainage systems (wall/strip) provide engineered positive drainage at very low cost, reducing or eliminating drainage rock. These drainage systems are available in a wide range of flow capacities, sizes, configurations  and compressive strengths. They offer economical alternatives to conventional drainage systems such as french drains, chimney drains, or rock drains which typically consume considerably more space and non-renewable granular materials.

Nilex Drainage Systems

Nilex drainage systems applications include retaining walls and foundation; playing fields and golf courses; bridge abutments; plaza decks and planters and venting systems.  Drainage systems are required for residential applications such as retaining walls, paved driveways, foundations, large planters, and lawns or landscaped areas that have saturated soils or standing water.  Roadway rehabilitation often includes a drainage system. Airport runways demand exceptional drainage due to their frequent heavy loading, and lack of elevation.

Erosion and Sediment Control

At Nilex, engineered erosion control and sediment control solutions replace or reduce the dependency on scarce natural resources. Geosynthetic erosion control covers a range of products designed to reduce damaging effects of run-off, rainfall and wave action on soil structures by redirecting water flow or acting as a barrier between the soil surface and water.

The use of specialized drainage products, equipment and techniques for consolidation and improvement of soft or problem soils. These specialized soil modification techniques include the installation of wick drains for rapid soil consolidation and earthquake drains for liquefaction mitigation. more

MSE Retaining Walls & Slopes

Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) retaining walls and slopes are used in road, bridge building, and new development projects to reinforce slopes.  When building MSE retaining walls or steep slopes, Nilex provides high strength retaining wall systems, geogrids and geotextiles that cut costs and expand the range of possibilities. Proven systems with engineered design support are available, offering low-cost, high technology solutions for wall and slope construction challenges and grade separations. more

Roads & Pavement

The use of geotextiles and geogrids to cut road construction costs by improving base reinforcement and reducing aggregate thickness requirements. Geotextiles provide reinforcement and separation of soils to improve road performance and act as moisture barriers to increase pavement life. Geogrids improve structural integrity of roads. more
